Black Friday
So many people will be getting ready for what is called "Black Friday." As someone who has been around retail for as long as I can remember, I can easily remember the amount of stress on retailers to prepare for this time of year. Nearly 30% of all retail business is done in the next 5 plus weeks. Stresses run high, as do tempers and charge cards.
As believers we have to embrace the mind of Christ in all that we do and this includes allowing the spirit of the Lord to help us maintain self control, peace and grace in this season.
It is my hope that you and your family and friends will enjoy the blessing of the Lord in this season. We here at SPOILS Business Ministry offer you our heartfelt blessings at this time. I enclose a few words from othes to meditate upon during this holiday.
Blessings,
Lee & the Team
Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:4
“For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving” NIV
“A thankful heart cannot be cynical.”
A. W. Tozer
“We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction."
Harry A. Ironside
”On Thanksgiving Day we acknowledge our dependence.”
William Jennings Bryan
“We ought to give thanks for all fortune: if it is ‘good,’ because is it good, if ‘bad’ because it works in us patience, humility, and the contempt of this world and the hope of our eternal country”
C. S. Lewis
"You say, 'If I had a little more, I should be very satisfied.' You make a mistake. If you are not content with what you have, you would not be satisfied if it were doubled."
C H Spurgeon
“No people on earth have more cause to be thankful than ours, and this is said reverently, in no spirit of boastfulness in our own strength, but with the gratitude to the Giver of good who has blessed us.”
Teddy Roosevelt
“God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say ‘thank you?’“
William A Ward
“True thanksgiving means that we need to thank God for what He has done for us, and not to tell Him what we have done for Him.”
George R. Hendrick
