Pillars of clouds and fire...
Easter
Dear Friends:(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)
Easter.
Jesus crucified, buried and risen from the dead. Such a powerful testimony to the power of God. I have spent so much time in the Word over this time of crucifixion. I marvel at the pain and hurt, to be the source of all of God's anger towards sin.
Jesus went to the cross...
The prophet Isaiah records:
(KJV) 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
(NIV) 52:14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him [c]-- his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness--This is the pain, the results of beatings with a whip embedded with pottery shards, ripping away flesh, 39 times, that you and I would receive healing forevermore in our bodies. And he was disfigured more than any other man, beyond human likeness. He was not the pictures that we have grown up with. Jesus on the cross was a terrible sught. Little wonder the devil took so much pride in the torture of Jesus.
At the cross He was placed with sinners, no different than you and I. So many of us, were we alive in old testament times, would have been imprisoned, stoned, beaten for our actions, some of us even put to death. Rejoice that you have a God of grace. And they placed nails in His hands and feet, pierced His side, mocked Him.
And the wrath of God against sin, poured down. Little wonder that, the earth shook, the veil tore, and dead saints were resurrected.
Matthew records:
27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Jesus received all of God's anger towards sin (for He was the sacrifice). The power to change all of eternity was invoked. I imagine that all that prayer time in the garden was a request to the Father, and the angels of the Lord gathered to do battle. It must have been an awesome spectacle. The forces of good and evil gathered here. satan believing victory. And minutes later having Jesus show, making a spectacle, demanding the keys.
Jesus died for you and I, that we who believe on Him, confessing Him with our mouth, that He is Lord, have life, life eternal.
Romans 10:
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.Many of you who receive this letter, know Jesus. Some of you don't. Please whichever group you are, see Jesus as the light of the world. Would you endure the pain for a people as sinful as we have been? I look around the world and I see the pain of the multitudes, and yet He came so that we would have forgiveness of sin, divine health, compassion for one another.The flesh was removed from Jesus' body, need we remove it from our brothers and sisters? Grace, freely given.
When you are in church this Sunday (or even Saturday), remember the pain that He suffered for you and I, the next time you think "its just a little sin". God can not stand in the presence of sin, that is what the blood of Jesus is for. In remembrance of me...The Blood
1 Corinthians 11
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat; this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lords death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lords body.Remember Him-do not trample on the blood. Jesus gave His life because He loves you. Become part of the body of Christ, advancing the Kingdom of God, bringing the Gospel to sinful people. The Good News of Jesus. He is risen. And seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
We love you. Be blessed this celebration weekend.
We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please write us.
