Pillars of clouds and fire...
(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)
Many of you know, that my friend, Steve, has been in the hospital. Yesterday I went to see him and spent the evening with him. Why? Because he's my friend. We had a good time just talking about everything. From Jesus, to church, to being sick, to how did we get here.
Have you ever thought how you got here?
I was born in Connecticut, moved to Vermont. If you read my testimony, you will see that I made many choices and most of them wrong, before I came to the Lord. The thread of your life is so important. Each time you make a choice, your life moves in a different direction, offering new choices as you go. God works all things for the good for those who are in Christ Jesus. God takes that thread ever so gently and moves you about.
But, as we wend our way down this path, there is so many offers out there, who knows what to do. I work a great deal with young people. I have young girls who have made wrong choices and are burdened with pregnancies at as young as 14. I have men who have gone to prison as a result of choices. I want to help them, and I am capable of many things, but ultimately it is Jesus who weaves them into life.
Steve is in the hospital for reasons. Somewhere we will see fruit of this time. We can say that some was choices, and yet God will move heaven and earth to use this situation. I am excited to see the results. We sat and laughed about the funny things and how God will use this and us (even funnier!). Just because he was in a hospital, does not mean we have to be quiet about Jesus. (Brother K-if you are reading this mail we were not real quiet-remember, you put us together).
We talked about Jesus, prayed openly and were available to those who will hear. But we are thread and God is the weaver of life. I believe that there will be fruit. Great fruit. You have to understand that for Steve and I, we are not really cut from the same mold. And yet when we get together, there is a harmony. And God brought us together. If I had not moved to Vermont, if Steve had not been a friend of someone I knew, we had the same pastor, but ultimately it was our love for the Lord that united us.
Today, think how you got right where you are. God intricately weaved you into his plan. He has continued plan and purpose for you. Because of His love, he allows you choices. Because of His love you are part of the Master's plan. If you are going through a time where you are unsure, know this. God will not leave you or forsake you. If there is any doubt of that, look to how you arrived where you. See the hand of the Lord upon your life. If you are going through a difficult time this ministry welcomes your prayer requests. If you have made bad choices, God is a God who forgives.
Selah.
Shalom.
