6/30/97 What's The Hurry
Dear Friends:
(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)
What's the hurry?
Too often I hear that answer from a person, in regard to their salvation and the possible life style changes that come with it.
My dad, thanks to your prayers, has received salvation in the Lord. Unfortunately, at 70, there are quite probably less years ahead of him than there are for many of you. Or are there???
Perhaps, you think that just because you are saved, there is time. God says each one of us has an appointed time to die. I do not want to leave one second sooner or one second later than what he has called me to.
Maybe you receive this letter from a friend rather than directly from me, and you are not walking in the light of God's truth, and Jesus is not in your heart, and even if He is, is He the LORD of your life?
My dad grew up in a pretty unsettling lifestyle. At 70 his alcohol and smoke addictions brought him down. And yet today there was a change. A concern for the things of life that have passed away. Our lives are but a vapor. I realize that God is a God of miracles, of reconstruction, of grace. And yet even with all that, time grows short with each passing day.
I have seen too many people who have let their lifestyles control them, affecting all who are involved. Without Jesus as the Lord of our life, our walk is quite often a stumble in darkness.
I encourage you and those around you to step out of your comfort zone. Time grows short, and regardless of your belief about the coming age, when someone becomes ill, their age has come. It is you who stand between them and eternity. It is your witness(the word means signpost) that will give them the direction. And prayerfully, you will see the results that I have seen.
Let's begin to be proactive for Jesus and all that He stands for. We are called to be ambassadors for the Most High King. We need to start standing up for what we believe, beginning by loving those around us.
Take heed. Life is too short.
Selah.
Shalom.
We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
In the Service of Christ for His Glory,
Lee Johndrow
