Answered Prayer

Last week I saw the answers of so many prayers. And its to His praise I share these. For months we had prayed for a guitar player for our ministry. Last Thursday he showed up. And he matches our ministry. He's a cell to the part of the body we are. God knew in His infinite wisdom. He's on fire for Jesus. recommitting his life to the Lord. God gave us all gifts. We may be a liver in the body, but we are going to be the most efficient one we can be. And God sent us another liver cell!!!!
The ministry here is probably not your standard ministry. God always told us we would get them out of the woodwork and out of the hills and off the streets. Meaning I guess we would be a little odd. Some who read this and know us will agree. And here comes this guy. He's an evangelist(yes!) in his heart and sensitive to the needs of others. He is going to be a ball of fire. And we needed another one like that. Thank you, Jesus! As we prepare for our tent revival in August, we prayed for more evangelists. How else can we evangelize our city before the tent, without these people? (Now our prayer is He sends people of wisdom with the ability to disciple longterm-father/mother stock) God knew exactly what we needed. His wisdom in these matters continues to allow me to be more humble.
Another man received not only his new job, but a better job. He went in as a worker and got his first promotion to foreman. This man is another new Christian and his faith is immensely strengthened. (And he's an evangelist!)
God continues to answer prayer. Why? He is that kind of God. Faithful to His Word. These prayers to many are perhaps inconsequential, but to this young church it is part of a wave. But there is a more important aspect here.
God knows your every need and desire. He knows everything there is to know about you (and more than you probably wish He knew!). His heart's desire is to have you walk in His light and receive from Him. I have received so many letters of answered prayer that it is incredible. And so many of these are like ours, in the fact that God has provided exactly (or in abundance) for our needs. God wants to hear from you and He wants you to listen to Him. Too often we hear, "I don't hear from God", and my response is "did you wait for Him?".
Today let's all make an effort to not only take the time to talk to Him, but to give Him more than a second to answer. So frequently my answers come an hour later as I wait. Let's give God the opportunity to answer our prayers. Let's wait for Him. Don't hang up the phone when you are done talking, and I don't think He has an answering machine or voice mail (I am inquiring about email!)
