6/20/97 Apply The Word
Dear Friends:

(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)

Apply the Word.

Last night, I heard the words of a man, who in the eyes of doctors is a walking miracle. And he spoke about applying the Word of God. The wondrous thing about his topic is that he confirmed for our church what I have felt for a long time. Mixed with love this is a concoction that can not be overcome. What I know is that God's love radiated through this man in such a wondrous way, that even a unbeliever, preparing for divorce, was touched. God's love intervened in people's lives in such a direct way, that they no longer can stay the same.

This man had traveled from South Africa, to bring this woman the Good News of Jesus Christ and His Love. Is that not an ambassador, called by the Most High God?

Despite 85 degrees, circulated by fans, the room was packed as the Word of God was brought forth. (Fortunately, he was from South Africa!) People who have been in bondage for years, were set free.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son. And He is still giving Him to those who will listen. For those who will hear Him, and apply His Word to their lives. This man was radically healed in such a way that there is no question as to who holds him. Doctors were challenged by his recovery. God is a Creator. In this man's life there was re-creation.

God loves him. And most assuredly He loves you. Right where you are. He loves you.

I know God is pulling His church together. I see it. I receive messages from around the world, telling me of the unity God is bringing to His church. Not denominations (or nondenominations who have become denominations!) but people. Brothers and sisters looking to the Father, and seeing His love. Going beyond racial and ethnic division. Calling us brethren. You are my brother, my sister. And as I walk in the love of Jesus Christ, the gates of hell will not, can not prevail. Love destroys the barriers that confine. The walls of churches will come down for there is no longer the time for petty indifferences.

Even today I see the power of the enemy rising up to destroy the unity that continues to grow. It will take all of us to combat the works of the enemy. Shoulder to shoulder, moving in unison. So what do we do?

Love is an action for the believer. For me, it means keeping short accounts. Stopping words of negativity from building momentum. Forgiving when it doesn't "feel good". Going past myself. Remembering all of us are in this battle. It has meant in the past, making calls to bring restoration between me and another. Whether or not, I want to, is not the issue. I am sure Jesus wasn't thrilled about walking to the cross for me. And yet it says for the joy set before Him, He endured the cross. I am not a martyr (personally hope never to be), and yet dying to oneself is necessary to see revival come. Giving up your rights ( you are a servant), and denying oneself (not very popular these days, as hedonism gains speed) to see unity come.

As I was in cell group on Tuesday, I mentioned this. The person you dislike the most is the level of like you can have for Jesus. So if you hate someone your level of love for Jesus is at that level. "Did I not come to you and you refused me?"

Just as hatred and dislike are actions, so is love. Let's reverse the tide today. Let each one of us be a miracle. Let us love one another, and let them know it. Don't just say it-be it.

Selah.

Shalom.

We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
