6/13/97 All of Him
(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)
Once again we approach the weekend, for some the end of dreary weeks and a chance to slow down. For many believers, the expectancy of Sunday and the celebration of Jesus, has already been building.
Last night, we sent people out in our move to evangelize Springfield. Some went to homes and some to the street. When we got back we began to worship Him, celebrate Him. It was awesome. I could live there. The presence of God is so sweet, so powerful. There was a storm brewing in the air (which we had prayed would hold off until we were done, only to find out later it had been all over the area to our north and east), and as we began to worship, it settled in. Lightning. Thunder. Rain. God's power, in a way we find so hard to conceive sometimes.
Yetsterday I was with my spiritual dad, and we talked of what the Lord was doing in our lives. For him, believing that God will provide all the finances for the orphanage he is starting. For me I showed him where the tent was going, where the building we have been praying for is. And yet our talk was so focused about what we see in other people and what God is doing. It is exciting to speak of the things God is doing in people's lives. Healings, miracles, new jobs, restored marriages.
He wanted to go home after to sit on the porch and watch the storm with his daughter and son. To see the unharnessed power of God. To teach his youngest of the ways of God.
I received a call from a woman from Kansas City for prayer last night. She receives this letter and God pointed her to us. God is using people from all over, transfering them just as in the first church. He is on the move. Her needs were for family members, God using available vessels.
God is moving in an exciting and powerful way. I do not believe we are even close to the outpouring of what is to come. We have not seen the power of Acts in our churches.
What I think we are seeing is a moving into the fullness of God. I am excited when I see God changing lives, whether I am the vessel or not. For too long I watched the devil changing lives (obviously he still persists!) and I am not going to wait to see more. I don't live in a big city and yet the evidence of what has happened in cities has crept in to our rural areas. Our children are in the same danger as those in larger cities. And yet I see the sovereign hand of God moving. Ripping kids from the clutches of the enemy. Destroying strongholds of the enemy.
That is exciting. And when we look at the world and see what God has created, the splendor, the greatness, the beauty, I don't know about you, but a warmth flows into me.
I encourage people to look for what the Lord has made. Many of you enter this weekend, feeling drained, the battle has been hard. And yet if you can lift your eyes to the heavens, He is there. Waiting for you. Desiring to meet with you. To lift weakened arms, to apply balm to hurts and pains, to love you.
Make a date with Him.
This weekend, prepare yourself with the expectancy of what God can do. When you enter His gates, enter with praise and thanksgiving. Go expecting of Him.
Not of man.
Dear Friends:
Selah.
Shalom.
We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
