7/30/97 Growth

As we move closer to the tent and what it entails, I look with awe at what God is doing in people.
Last night at cell group, there was perhaps 15, as many husbands are working late, etc.. And as I looked around, I saw growth. Much growth, in just a few months. People who were scattered about what they were doing just 4 or 5 months ago, beginning to tighten up and walk with the Lord.
As a pastor, it makes me look good, but I assure you, it isn't me. It is the keeping power of the Lord Jesus. It is the solidness of the rock, being under their feet. There is joy in lives. It is not what Lee has done to them or for them.
These are people whose lives have been trashed in the world's system, frequently by choices. Many of the people who have been here, have made devastating choices, prior to the Lord. It is seen in their relationships, their finances and in their eyes. They do not need a "Savior who is dead". Jesus is alive. They need the joy of the Lord that is available today.
And they have stretched forth their hands and He is faithful to receive them. There are many who receive this letter who need a Savior who is alive. You may have been taught that miracles disappeared with the apostles and Jesus. Perhaps that the Spirit of God doesn't move today. Perhaps as a believer you have failed to do the things that brought you joy and results as a new believer. Maybe your Bible sits cold and unwanted, with the pages marked from a week ago, perhaps more. Whatever it is, let me help you. God is alive. The faces of people last night told me that. We are not some special church who gets results. We are simple people who love the Lord. We struggle with the same issues as you. We fail, frequently. But we keep on moving ahead. With the tent coming I have seen God's little army becoming a powerful force as it moves against the spiritual darkness.
It is God's love for us and for you that is our sustenance.
I pray that you may grab hold of that, and feast on His Word, that you may have life, and life abundant. I pray your God is alive and well and dwelling within you. That this day, you will walk in His peace.
