7/29/97 Peace
Dear Friends:

(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)

We have come into the final countdown of our tent meeting here in Springfield. And I feel like we have passed a place where peace is just moving upon us.

Perhaps its like the crossing of the Red Sea, that once you are in it, what choice do you have, but to admire the view. Maybe its how the priests felt as they stood in the Jordan, waiting for 2,000,000 to scurry across. (Have you ever wondered how long that took? It said make haste. And what about the children who wanted to pick up shells and look at the fish flopping about.)

I have a peace today. as the final details come into place. I finally found the electric meter, the tent will be here Saturday as will the trailer, people are excited. So what happens now. Fortunately for me, my next 4 nights are sown up, so I really only have Saturday to think about this. My wife on the other hand is trying to comb out the snarls this husband leaves behind. Like new curtains. I confess that one of the reasons that I don't have to worry is that Tina does such a good job with details. I tend to be a floater, a person who stands by, viewing the whole situation, and then put it all together. My wife is not like that at all. She is my detail person. So on Sunday we put up this 500 person tent. Monday we kick off. We are excited about what the Lord is doing. We have exciting favor with people. It is the hand of the Lord and not what we have done.

So why do I have peace? Because God is in control. Is he in control of your life? Do you trust him with your possessions, your family, your job? Today you can be like those crossing the Jordan, like those bopping through the Red Sea. His peace within you, passing all understanding.

I pray that you will receive this peace in Jesus' name.

Selah.

Shalom.
