7/25/97 Despise Not
Dear Friends:

(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)

Yesterday was a day where I realized (only at 1am this morning!) that when the best wine is to come, the vessel we are in often seems the darkest. It was not one of those great days. Things had been very tense for the previous 24 hours, just felt like we were walking on eggshells.

I had prepared people for a meeting on Friday and Saturday that was on Saturday and Sunday!!! I had run around like a madman to get everything ready for today only to find out it was tomorrow! Little things like that.

I see the reason now, that things were under attack.

Last night our worship team was invited to play at a camp for young people (12-20). I was not sure who would be there (we found out Tuesday), what to expect, and what we were going to do. We were all loaded to go, when it was decided we needed one more thing. We were to set up at 6 and ended up not set up until 7. If you know me, you will know that things that do not go according to plan, are verrrrry difficult for me. At 7:15, approximately 30 youngsters pulled in to the building. To look at them, they were every day kids. I recognized a few I had had trouble with a few years before. From the moment the first note was played God moved immediately. Within seconds there was hands in the air, voices following. We played for two hours, and when they gave an altar call, every youngster and counselor was at the altar. Timothy says,"despise not your youth."

I witnessed a miracle last night. There is no way around it. If these are the young people that have come to take over, I am prepared to hand them the keys. There was testimonies that would take your breath away about the power of Jesus. It wasn't music or people, it was the Holy Ghost blowing upon His children. And as the night progressed and tears flowed, these young people ministered one to another. Most of these children were not "church children", many had the doctrine and theology they did know, turned upside down. Are we ready for this generation? I don't know. What I do know is that it is time to minister to our younger brothers and sisters and reach out.

Reach out to that troubled youth. It may simply be communication, lack of understanding keeping him from Jesus. You may be the only Jesus he ever sees.

Shalom.

Selah.

Shalom.

We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
