Dear Friends:
(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)
God is good! (All the time-Amen)
This weekend was a powerful weekend with God just doing what He does best-showing up or being God, whichever choice you like.
Yesterday, we assembled for CHURCH! Not a building but those coming together in the name of Jesus. The power of this service came from God working through people, not my teaching or man.
We had the need for coming together, because we need each other. Not because we are an institution, but because we are His people. I see that the part of the body that either self inflicts a tourniquet, or is in fact tourniquetted (cut off) will not recover because the flow of BLOOD to that part of the body (that person) will cause life to cease. Many times, we the church, cut those off (out of fear), who need him the most.
As we began worship the power of God began to flow, new songs came forth. People danced, they sang. We had a few from an Assemblies of God church show up. One of these women told me that this was going to be home. Love flowed. How does it do that? I don't know, but it does. The body came together in one accord.
As I shared from 1 Corinthians 14:26
26 ¶ How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
and Acts 2:
42 ¶ And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
I think we all saw the light. And then we began to break bread. A "pot blessing" (as opposed to pot luck!). Communion with God and one another. (And the children were great throughout it all!)
And there was a new fire to see souls come into the Kingdom. One of our people called me aside and said, "I know we are to pray on Thursday nights, but could we go back on the streets?" NO-of course!!! And seven more signed up as well. And others came up to express desires of going into the nursing homes and elderly housing.
In verse 47 it says God added to the church, after all these things happened. And when blood begins to flow to the body, then life is allowed to continue, the parts of the body are allowed to grow.
So...
Are you coming together with the brethren? Are you breaking bread with other believers? Are you walking in your call. Are you operating in your gifts? Are you bringing and allowing blood to flow to the members of the body? Have I asked you enough questions?
I love each and every one of you and recognize that not all of us came out of great lifestyles and families, that this time of year is often difficult. But, the world who doesn't know Jesus celebrates the birth of the Christ sometimes better than we do. Counterfeits of what shopuld be the real thing. They get together and meet. Are we not the true vine and should we not lead by example, that the the Christ, Jesus Himself might be seen in our lives that others might be won?
Selah.
Shalom.
We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
In the Service of Christ for His Glory,
