Dear Friends:

(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)

Despise Not Thy Youth.

Paul speaking to Timothy regarding his youth compared to that of others. What about the children? We ask that question frequently. A few months ago I brought this issue to this forum, and there was considerable response. Much of it in repentance. And yet the list has grown so much, that I am back to it. With the tent over, God has shaped my ministry in two areas, causing us to re-examine where we are at. One of those areas is evangelism, the other, the young people. So, here I am looking to the young people.

The little ones who are our brothers and sisters in the Lord, needing the hand of guidance and wisdom. Am I encouraged? Most certainly! God is using the childrento do the works that so many adults look at and reject. Are there young people in your life? Have you looked to them as brethren? Do you see the generation coming forth in the power and might of Jesus Christ? There is a mighty move of the Lord in the young people of our day. They are shakers and movers of the Most High God. And we need to move into a place to accept that. At 42, I am the oldest person in our church. And yet I realize the need to run, to move...or get out of the way! Last night at cell group, one of the 15 year olds, headed to public school, asked if we would provide support for a prayer group, he and friend want to begin at the school!!! I have a 5 year old who wants to go to nursing homes to pray for the sick!!! Is this isolated? NO!

I receive more reports of young people forging ahead with God, revivals with young people, healings and miracles than any other mail I receive(and on a any day I receive 100-250 letters!) . God is moving in the young people of our world.

We as older brothers and sisters need to embrace it and NOT despise their youth. We are to be encouragements to them, to make time for them just as we do for sister soandso. Open our ears to what the Spirit is saying. To paraphrase an old song from the 60's(and yes, I know who did this song-but its not important.), "This generation's got soul". Well, they have spirit, too. Turn to the book of Titus and see God's encouragement to the church.

When I was a child I was put down in the church I attended and walked away. I think it is a tragedy that occurs frequently in the Christian church. I talked to my spiritual dad yesterday, and he shared that kids today can make moral choices, that's not the problem. The direction is placing our vision, encouraging their vision, and giving them the opportunity to engage the enemy. What's the point of training up warriors if they are not allowed to fight? It would be nice if they didn't have to, but very unrealistic.

Meanwhile much of the church talks about the loss of their children to the enemy. Brothers and sisters, there's a war out there for our kids. Let's despise not their youth. Let's give them opportunities to grow in the power and strength of God.

The kids I see moving are the ones who have begun to fight.

Today, encourage a young person, and watch the light.

Selah.

Shalom.

We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
