Pillars of clouds and fire...

4/8/97 Rollercoasters

61 degrees, sunny-wait a minute its snowing, nope, just hold on.

The weather here in Vermont is consistent...consistent in the fact we never know what to expect. Yesterday it was sunny and warm, today it was big flakes of snow.

The call today is for consistency. A lifestyle that reflects the love of Jesus and what He has set before us. Pressing on towards the mark, moving towards our Saviour. Let's choose today to get the waves out of our lifestyle, remove ourselves from the rollercoaster that life would have us on.

So often, I have seen brothers and sisters move off the mark, for whatever the reason. My own earlier life with the Father, still had many of the defects and inconsistencies, I had grown up with. I still rollercoastered in my emotions, allowed situations to determine my outcome.

God's promises are our part of His covenant with us. When we begin to stand solid on the basic promises, the premise that God is a good God, that He desires you to blessed, you can remove yourself from the roller coaster.

John.10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This is Jesus talking here. If He is saying He comes to give you abundant life, than stay away from the thoughts and ideas that do not promote abundant life. Let's make the decision today, that we can get off the roller coaster, and begin to enjoy the eveness of our walk with God. James says to remove all the naughtiness from our lives.

Removing sin, knowing we have Grace to carry out His word. And God gives you promises. P R O M I S E S. So you will know where you are going to, and what He will do for you. It is very difficult to enjoy something, when you are concerned about the outcome. His Word, says "cast your cares upon Him". God says you will go through trials and tribulations(He says don't even be surprised!), but he PROMISES you He will not leave you or forsake you. He is in the fire with you(and scripture says when they came out of the fire, there was no smell of smoke.

So, I pray that this day, you will realize the ups and downs of life, do not need to be as high or as low. God's promises are for you.
