Pillars of clouds and fire...
(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)
Does prayer really work?
Last night our cell group met, and began to pray for the return of a young man who had had some problems in his marriage and decided to take off. The group came together and began to lift him up. He had been gone three days.
Before the meeting I told my family we would hear from him. After we prayed one of the men said we will hear from him before the meeting end. Another friend of mine called and said within 15 minutes.
Praise God. All heard from the Lord.
He called. No, he wasn't great, but Christians kept coming up to him(part of our prayers) during his time astray, and miraculously he found enough money at 9:30(after our meeting), to get him home from Connecticut.
Like the prodigal son, he came home.
Oh, he's lost his job, needs work, but if God could get him this far, certainly he can sustain him. He slept on my couch. And now we begin the prayerful counseling, all with grace.
I write about this because, I realized that if the concentrated prayers of men. women, and children, were directed continuously at the people we are trying to see brought to salvation, our churches would be full.
Its not that I didn't realize this, its just that all that was prayed;
seeing his transgressions, removal of pride, Christian laborers, leading him to churches, all of it; God just orchestrated.
So I pray even more differently today than yesterday.
Please let this be an encouragement to pray. Pray for the big things. A year ago, we began praying for the schools, and now we have a Christian principal. Let us pray bigger, and with hope.
We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you.
Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer
request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling
spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother
and sister.
