Pillars of clouds and fire...
(If it is welcome and a blessing, send it on to others,Lee)
The only Jesus they have ever met.
Are you the only Jesus, the person you meet for breakfast, or see in the grocery store or enters your church, ever sees?
Is Jesus reflected in your countenance?
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to walk in the shoes I believe God called us for. Walking as Jesus walked, circumspectly, upright, compassionate. This situation made it difficult. It was one of those "church situations". There wasn't any room to navigate. It had to be done.
Only the day before, someone had spoke of my "subtlety". Another commented that I have the subtleness of a Mack truck.
The reality was Jesus had to be seen. I pray and hope that He was.
I want the best for this situation. I want restoration to all parties to come. I want God's Holiness in me.
Too often, my countenance has't been that of Jesus. Of His peace, mercy and grace. I am sure that others have wondered the same. My early days of Christianity, were "in your face ministry, get it right" type attitudes. Bound in the throes of legalism, I was in bondage to a system. I now know that Jesus came to release people, not to bind them. One of my recent revelations regarding prophecy, was that probably 90% of the words He brings to me are for prayer, not to speak. That is as far as east from west, from where I used to walk. Jesus was not glorified.
Today, my wife has a screen saver on her computer, that simply says,"Would I say this to Jesus?". I want to walk in the love of God. I realize everyone will not receive the Gospel of Jesus, but I want it to be the choice of the individual, not the result of my presentation.
Am I the only Jesus, this person will ever meet? That is the question I impress on myself continuously. And where do I slip the most. Probably with those I see the most.
My heart for you today, is that you would reflect on the grace that God has given you. That you would reflect on the person of Jesus, and His treatment of others. That it would be apparent in your walk and talk with others. That many people would be recorded as seeing you and knowing the love of Jesus.
Selah.
Shalom.
