3/9/98 Not Hurried

God is not in a hurry.

Amen?

18 months I have been praying for restoration in a situation with my youngest children, Cassi and Matt. It appears that it is Saturday of this week. I spoke to them on the weekend. Actually saw them at my dad's funeral last month for the first time in 18 months.

Ironically, the call came the 1st day of a forty day fast. (Divine coincidence?)

God has a purpose and a plan. I share this with you, especially those who have become discouraged over a long time prayer. I rejoice that I do not have to wait 40 years like Moses or Abraham!

Is 40: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

How many times have you read that? Perhaps its on the wall in your office or home. But has it become a living part of you? Are you willing to be patient and WAIT? That word wait means:

1) to wait, look for, hope, expect

2) to collect, bind together

To expect as the prodigal son's father did. Each day he went to the front yard looking for his "lost" son. Are you truly expecting? Or are you praying one thing and believing, even speaking the other? How many times have we prayed for an increase and turned around and said, "well, maybe." Stop putting God in a box! What you pray, begin to stir up in your heart. Have you been believing for restoration? Pray for the answer, believe for the answer and DON'T be double minded saying it can't happen.

Were there times in the last 18 months I got tired? Yes! If we wait, God will bear us up. Just like little eagles on their mother's back, we will be born up. Able to rise above circumsance and situation. The winds of the Holy Ghost carrying us. All we have to do is stiffen our wings and let God do His work.

Be bound together with the Word of God and His direction. Tie in to Him(second part of the definition) and let Him be our strength.

God's burden is light because He is our strength. His yoke is easy, because He is able to lead. Let's let God be God, and you and I do our work, and let the renewing of His Spirit refresh us that comes from waiting on Him.

Selah.

Shalom.
