1/1/98 Come Unto Me

Many of us are looking at this "new year" with an eye on what the Lord is preparing for us. Last night our church gathered to usher in the New Year, with a time of prayer. Some of it I know brought introspective looks into individual's lives. Here we were on the top of a new year.

The prophetic words that came forth indicate a time of reaping. As I prayed yesterday, I really felt the Lord was standing before His church, saying,"come to me". I pondered why He would be saying that. Perhaps a simple answer is here and that is why we have missed it. (How many times have you looked at a scripture and not thought it "important". I asked the Lord to reveal messages from obscure books like Obadiah, because there has to be something in there I need for my walk.)

"Come unto me". Well...have you?

Have you truly gone before the King of Kings and given your all over to Him? I can't say that. I would like to. But here is the catch. You and I are exactly where we want to be with the Lord. We can say we know where He wants us, but let's bite the bullet. We have not moved ahead as the victorious church God desires us to be, needs us to be, wants us to be. WHY? We haven't come in to Him. We have held on to the little sins in our life, the lifestyles that we so enjoy.

Yesterday a few of us had a conversation about "inconvenience". It is often "inconvenient" to be a Christian. People have needs and God wants you to fill them. And sometimes when you do that it means that inconvenience comes. It was inconvenient to stay out till 1am "partying" and be woken at 7 by a ringing phone. The phone has already gone off 8 times this am and it is only 10am. My son wanted to do a job with friends, but his old boss called and offered him a day's work. He needs this because he owes money!!! Hello? Debt causes its own set of inconveniences. But being a Christian often "appears" to have a "downside" (maybe its that hanging on the cross, losing your head kind of thing!). I would like to sleep in once or twice a year. Offering this newsletter has brought about a need to be up and write it(ps-3 pages towards the book done-Amen) even when I don't want to. Giving up caffeine this week has been an "inconvenience" but I believe the Lord has said this to me. (Besides fasting without a caffeine headache is certainly better!)

"Come unto me says the Lord to His church and I will give you rest.I will care for you and protect you and I will do that which you can not do."

A young man gave me a vision of the Lord with His hands at His side, head bowed in sorrow and when he asked Him what was the matter, the Lord replied to Him, that he was in sorrow over His church because they have not listened nor have they heard.

If I believe what I saw yesterday then I know for the harvest to appear, many of us must "come unto Him". And in that place there will be power and anointing as the Lord lifts His hands and the mountains shake and the hills give forth their fruit. As people pour out of the hills and the mountains , and you and I have come unto the presence of the Almighty, just as Moses glistened with the glory, so shall you and I appear to the lost. They have heard about it, even in their "new age" teachings and their satanic rituals of the light of Him who comes for His people. There is a power in Him that is only retrievable by "being" with Him. I am not talking about the five minute prayer on the way to work(yes they work!!!), but I am talking about the being with Him. There is no other place I would rather be.

"Come unto me, sayeth the Lord and I will show you great and mighty things as you walk with me. You will see that which has previously been hidden to you. As you meet with me so shall you see a difference in your walk and you will recognize those things that you have stumbled with and tripped over. Come unto me and you will see th glory descend upon you and those about you will marvel with that you have discerned and that which you bring forth. As you come unto me, many will see the spring in your step; you will attract the downtrodden, the despaired, the lost and the lonely. They will sek you because you have been with me. There are many who will try and tell you there is better, but in this day and in this time you will hear my voice and know that it is me. For do not be led astray by those who would cause you to fall and to struggle, but know that with me there is a freedom. Many of you have had illness and disease and yet you have not given it to me. Many have despaired at the loss of a loved one, seemingly to the world; have I not told you that I am God and that I have a plan and a purpose for your loved ones, that as you come to me and rest your head upon my shoulder that I will do that which I promised? Have I not said that I would do exceedingly, abundantly for you? Have I not called you out of darkness with a plan and a purpose, that I am capable of fulfilling? I say unto you this day, if you will come to me you will see clearly that which I have begun in you I am faithful to finish. That I will not leave you nor forsake nor allow you to be tread upon by the enemy, for there is nothing that comes upon you that I am not aware of. You say, 'Lord, where are you?' and I have said that I am here, for I have not left thee. For so many know where I am found and yet they leave me for others. This day have I 'stablished that you might walk with me, for can not two walk together lest they be agreed, and so I say come. Come to me those who are heavy laden; come to me those with needs; come to me and I will give you food to eat and water to drink, and you will find that plan and that purpose that I have placed in you. That which I have begun, I am faithful to complete.

In this time and in this year, there will be a great falling away and still many, many shall come unto me knowing that I am. And in that shall you see a great harvest come over your land. Oh, many shall turn and walk away for they have not heard. They have said where is your power and, yea, even those who have tasted and eaten with me shall be deceived. There is a discouragement in your ranks because you have taken upon you the load of the world, you have usurped my power and walked in division. Say no more for I will bring my people together for a time such as this. Many will mock and many will point, and yet I say be of good courage for I the Lord am with you. I am with you my people. That which you have read about me is true and in this day and this hour so shall you see the hand of the Lord over His people. They will be gather like wheat, tied together by the glory I bring. Seek me and you shall find. To fill my barns with the fruit of my labors, my hand has not been idle. There is much, much you will see. I stand before you and say come.

Selah.

Shalom.
