Jer 13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
This is one of those scriptures that I found in my Bible a few weeks ago, you know one of those that wasn't there before. At first it looks like a doom and gloom scripture, EXCEPT for that word "before".
I was teaching on darkness and sin, and some of the ways to keep from falling (outside of just say "NO"!) and this scripture appeared.
Its simple isn't it? Isn't it??? You give God the glory for your salvation, your life, your family, yourjob, your pets, your home, your vehicle, your food and provision, your tools, your vacations, etc., et al. (You get the point!!!)
When did you last give God the glory? I am not talking about church. I am talking about when did your conversation reflect the love you have for Jesus in your life? Or do you find your conversations are more self centered, taking credit for all that you accomplish? Like...MY car, My family, I did a great job!!!
God deserves the glory. Amen.
Too many Christians stumble in darkness, because their lives are so one sided-their own! I am not talking about those "enthusiastic" "praise the Lords" that we offer up in church, but, I am talking lifestyle.
Christianity isn't a religion, its a life style. And that means placing the bridegroom(Jesus) in His rightful place. Give Him the glory. If you have been struggling or stumbling, ask yourself if you have been giving the glory to Jesus or basking in it yourself.
Why do I say this? Because I realized in light of some of the letters I have received that God has given me a great responsibility in ministering to people over the internet, and there will be an accounting one day with Him over my handling of your prayers and requests. I don't want to stumble.
The Christian MUST give God the glory in order to be successful. He must be the center of our life. No submarine Christian(just coming up on Sundays!) will survive in the coming days. The world has too much influence.
Give Him the glory. When you KNOW that God has provided a vehicle or finances and an unbeliever tells you of your "luck", it is your responsiblity to tell Him that GOD provides. "Oh, brother Lee, I can't do that. And besides God doesn't really care", does He???? My God is a jealous God. He cares.
And if you don't think He is the provider, check out the capitalized word below:
1Ti 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly ALL things to enjoy;
Eph 5:20 Giving thanks ALWAYS for ALL things TO God and the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Would your life go better, if you began thanking God for all things? Well the opening scripture says they will get worse if you don't. I am always looking at the opposite side of the coin, kind of what it doesn't say.
Selah.
Shalom.
We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
In the Service of Christ for His Glory,
