Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Do you believe it?
I guess there may be some who have to ask themselves the first question-do I love God???? But if God called you, you are called. You're the man or woman that He had in mind. God changes not!!!
But take a few moments with that scripture today and chew it up. Only those who are very new to this list know the status of my dad. We brought him home on Friday and unless I miss my guess it will be soon. I think God in His mercy would not want my dad to be "defiled" by the end of this illness. Saturday my brothers and sister got together to discuss the "inevitable". (First time in two years.) It was okay and I would simply ask that you pray for the family, as many are not born again.
But the reason for the first scripture is this. Last August my stepdaughter, Alyssa, made a decision to live with her dad, turning away from Jesus, and doing all the things a 16 year old with no restraints might be tempted to do. While I was at my dad's on Saturday, she called, and asked if she could see my dad. Tina is picking her up this am at 10, and bringing her to the hosue. We have not seen Alyssa since August and had one 2 minute conversation in September and other than that, no contact. Our knowledge of her has come through Tyler and her guidance counselor.
But it looks like God is doing somethings in the middle of all this.
I see that he is giving me the opportunity to be a witness to others in my family. They can't miss it, because when God walks with you amongst the unsaved and you act as Christ you will see an anointing to bring them to Him. You don't so much as have to talk as you have to simply let Him come through you. A valid lesson for those on transmit mode. There is a famous line (by I believe, St.Augustine) that says, "Preach the Gospel and if necessary use words."
It brings it to a place of action and not just words. If you love Jesus and you hearken to His word for you, you will see that things begin to turn around. Some of you have turmoil because you have not learned simple things like turning the computer off when your family needs you. The Bible says "love one another as I have loved you." God is not "chatting" with His friends, or playing video games while His family is near by.
Your love shown to them by your actions will demonstrate Jesus' love working through you and that is the drawing power of Him, not you or I.
If we truly love Him, we will allow Him to place us in places that we do not want to be in. I have friends that are missionaries, who by now may have become accustomed to where God has placed them and grown accustomed to the foods and the customs, but remember they still have family from whence they came. So, today, how deep is your love for the Creator of the WHOLE Universe?
And as you walk in His love you will see a constant increase of His love washing over you and those things that previously have been "out there" will begin to change, because His Word is true.
Selah.
Shalom.
We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
