4/24/98 People

I was gently reminded yesterday, that there are no "denominations' in God's perfect plan. And please forgive me for appearing to imply that there were. God's plan was never for walls nor that we have denominational barriers. As we move towards the end of an age, walls must come down. Denominations have come out of man's structure, not God's. And HE has chosen imperfect vessels to carry out this work.

Tomorrow we have a meeting where my prayer and hope is that 10 churches will be represented, and yet I would give it all up for one "lost" soul to appear. So where are you in all of this. Have you offended a brother based on denomination, creating a greater wall than the barrier of denomination? I would like to tell you I have it all together in this area, but I don't. My heart's desire would be that I could function with other leaders and churches around the area. We have seen a great wave of "renewal" in Vermont(the strengthening of churches and their people and their hearts towards one another) and yet it is just scratching the surface. 1,500 people at a statewide convention and 450,000 population in the state of Vermont.

Why hasn't it happened as God would have it? Fear, pride, theology. Is there a church that won't or hasn't fellowshipped with you? Do they have something against you? If they do is not the scriptures clear about going to them? We can't win them all and I can accept that, but haven't we got into a place of loving the "comely" and forgetting those who have been there in the areas we are week in?

What is our commitment level? I love being with my "friends", but isn't there more? I am going through such a struggle on a personal level with my inability to reach those who need Jesus. I can pray til I am blue in the face, but it is you and I who must go.

I have been entering into a nursing home 3 days a week, and see such a sense of hurt. And only one other church has seen fit to send anyone there. So I go and make "rounds". And a few days ago it was so very neat, because residents began introducing me to other residents. And they must know they have such a need. People. That's what Jesus is all about. So why are we struggling with the minors when we should be striving for the majors-people and their needs. Do we not think if we were doing our jobs correctly, there would be no lack in the church and no need for competition?

People. God's crown. The lost, our inheritance.

Selah.

Shalom.

We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
