4/22/98 Responsibility

Responsibility.

First may I say thank you to all who wrote regarding fear. Many of the letters were insightful and helpful, not only to me but to those I shared them with. (I hope you realized that when you signed up for these letters, that not only would you receive prayer and encouragement, but I would use your letters(when appropriate!) as information for those I fellowship with.) Many of you have been Christians far longer than I, and I appreciate your wisdom. I also want you to know that with children on vacation, I have been a little busier than normal, and I have a handful of letters requesting answers that I have not gotten to. I have read them and have prayed. I will be sending you answers. But back to responsibility.

Isn't it odd how certain people feel that they can shirk the responsibilites that they have committed to? And I simply ask; what kind of witness is it for Jesus Christ, when we have a job to do and do not do (and toss the line, "I am forgiven") what we are to do.

I had a person show up in our church as the result of the witness of her relatives and the changes they had made in their lives through Jesus Christ. Church. People are watching. They are watching you at work and at home. They are keeping a close eye on your response to situations. In the work place you affect more than you can imagine. We are to be salt and light to the world. Have you considered the immenseness of that responsibility? Have you operated responsibly, that your life is considered without reproach?

One of the greatest deterents to people coming to the Lord has been those who call themselves Christians, who do not follow through on their responsibilities. If you think about it, the confrontations you have had over the last year, you will probably find it has to do with responsibility(or lack of it!).

So today, examine yourself. Is what you show to the world responsible? Are they encouraged by your actions?

And if not begin to work on it...for your sake and theirs.

Selah.

Shalom.

We pray for you, each and every day. If this is an encouragement to you. Please tell us, and please email it to someone else. If you have a prayer request, please mail it to us. We want to stand with you, battling spiritual wickedness, seeing people made free. We want to serve our brother and sister.
